    2/28/11 (Title Update 7)

    Issues Addressed:
    • Matchmaking improvements to return higher quality results faster. This change includes settings that are tunable in the live environment, so tweaking may continue beyond initial release of this update.
    • The in-game store now hides DLC map packs that do not match the language of the player’s disc to decrease the possibility of users downloading the incorrect language version.
    • Calling in a Chopper Gunner immediately after getting shot down in a Gunship will no longer end the Chopper Gunner run prematurely. Required timing-specific button presses.
    • Split screen players are now able to change camera perspectives and cycle through players as a spectator.
    • Addressed an issue where the most recent match played in Zombies could overwrite the best match played on the leaderboard.
    • Improved Zombies lobbies to prevent players from erroneously receiving the error “Unable to join game session” under certain circumstances.

    NINTENDO WII

    You must have a Wii Shop Channel account in order to download certain updates. Visit http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/channelsShop.jsp#access for information on the Wii Shop Channel.

    The game will prompt you to download the update when you start Multiplayer once it is available. If you are already running the game at this time, switch to Single Player and restart Multiplayer to get it. The update cannot be downloaded from Zombies, and you will be prompted to switch over to Multiplayer in order to access it.

    LAGGING health handicap would be a nice patch

    IMO lag or ping time should determine a Handicap for each players health percentage with the person with the most lag having the most health and the person wiht the best connection having the least amount of health. This would be an easy patch and even out the 'field' in terms of lag and fairness.

    That is a terrible idea and rewards people who are already getting rewarded for having poor connections.

    Nice thread idea :] this will be helpful. I'm sad about the hardline pro thing kind of but i'll just go back to ghost cause hardline pro wont be worth it anymore

    Carrying on the Hardline pro thing here, :rolleyes:sorry to whinge but, surely hardline pro (after the intended fix) is useless until you achieve at least a 4/5 kill streak anyway, so if they fix the sam turret, and sentry drops, it really wouldn't be worth earning it in the first place, would it? unless you picked care pack as your only killstreak.

    :mad: Come on Treyarch, work on the real bugs and not the "limited" perks that we all work our butts off to achieve, as the real challenges are achieving them in the first place!!

    new update 14 dec 2010

    Got the new update hoping the problems with multiplayer would finally be fixed. But lo and behold, it's gotten even worse. Not only have i gone from NAT type 2 to 3 all of a sudden but it takes approx 10 attempts before i can finally get off a round. Even then i'm lucky if i can play an entire game without losing the connection. If i am lucky enough to have played an entire match, i can start all over again because ' game lobby is closed'. To say this is frustrating would be the understatement of the year. I am truly starting to regret ever buying this game and pray the problems will be fixed before i throw it out the window

    Probably the worst idea ever. How about a patch that puts all the legit green connections with each other only and partying the cheap yellows and reds together. OR better yet, up the connection requirements to 8mbps as a minimum over xbox live.

    Besides I think everyone knows the servers used by gaming companies usually aren't very great to begin with.

    sounds like a pretty good idea. I was hoping that in combat training, you could choose anything you want...but you have to level in that as well...lame.

    Hey guys, thanks for supporting the thread. Anyway, I will tell you my opinions.

    Surprise...the patch is fine on the Xbox 360.
    Now for the PS3...it's utter crap. I had problems staying in a lobby for a few games. Now, forget about it.

    When new info comes out, I will update it.

    I was thinking of changing the text to correspond to each 'console'.
    i.e. Dark Red for PS3, Dark Green for Xbox, Dark Grey for PC.

    They will be dark colors so they don't hurt anyone's eyes. I honestly hate it when someone types in bright yellow, pink, dark blue, etc.

    So sadly after patch 2 not much seems to have been changed - still the usual problems with connection, freezing and matchmaking etc...I was looking forward to some silenced sniping too but even the supposed / promised headshot multiplyer for that set up has also not worked with the PSG NOT being a one shot kill to the head when silenced...why the hell can't this company produce a product that works?
    After over a months play I have yet to either join or successfully invite any friends to a pre-game lobby this is a fundemental flaw and something that IW has successfully managed with the modern warefare series...I did expect the worst when the patch only took 2 minutes to download...seriously Treyarch you need to fix things in order of importance as the way we're going now your next avaliable download will be map packs! And how many people do you think are going to rush out to spend more money on a faulty product...

    With the CG they made it so the square box that goes over enemies waits tell they have spawned for a little while so that you cant just spawn kill them. With the care package thing, it is hardline pro that used to be able to try again on sam turrets and senty gun packages but they made it so that you can only re try on care packages with hardline pro.

    And as I keep saying "that sucks ass" as your Perk slot 1 Hardline is useless until you down 4/5 people, now considering this is an average k/d ratio, this is a REAL BAD idea.
    you don't have to wait to use any of the other slot 1 perks, so why change it in the first place?

    also, on a re-roll of a care package, you now get crappy stuff like spy plane/ammo

    They say you vote with your money, but I never new they were gonna screw around so much with the game, might as well call it Black ops (part developed series)

    Why reward people with bad internet? You can search locale to get a good latency overall but at the end of the day it's down to an individuals connection.

    By reading your post I can tell you know nothing about connections. A download of 1MB is sufficient if you aren't hosting and an upload of about .25

    If players are hosting they should have at least a 5mb D/L and a 1mb U/L but it is still playable without. Speeds are only half the story. QoS is what it is mainly about.

    Also connections will only be full green if the players are local to each other.

    Most games do have OK servers as they play a limited role in the games. They are mainly used for, getting players into matches, recording match stats and keeping track of host records etc.

    I know enough about connections and how they work fyi. Just keeping it simple for everyone. I guess what I was proposing was a way to monitor connections or keeping the most effecient ones together. Lots of people tend to run routers which in my experience contributes to lag especially if the bandwidth is being stretched between multiple users. SO, OBVIOUSLY the best solution is to either keep the connections seperate as far as actual ping and packet delivery/receiving OR keep all connections console:modem:server:modem:console at minimum to ensure the best connectivity possible. I think throwing in a program to monitor and seperate greens from reds is possble and the best way to go.

    As for green connections being local only I don't think that's always the case. I've been in parties with actuall local friends and ppl over seas and the connection quality seems totally random. May keeping info loging seperate from actual gameplay is the way to go idk. Either way there's a registry problem. If the all the connections are good and a clip to the face doesn't take someone down in hardcore there is an issue.

    Hardline Pro lets you have a chance at changing your care package for something else, like another killstreak. You used to be able to do this with Sentry Guns and SAM turrets as well, but Treyarch patched it so its only the care packages.
